Hit the Road.

QUESTION: if you had the time and money and could go on any month-long summer adventure of your choice, what would you choose to do?

I would love to travel around the whole time. Spend a week in the South of France. A week in Australia. A week in Switzerland. I assume I will need about 7 days in-between everything to travel to each place but if there were any days leftover I would love to spend the time at a cabin in the woods with 4-wheelers and horses.

Turn on the tube.

QUESTION: If you were told that you could watch only one television show a week for the next 12 months, which show would you choose to watch?

Lucky for me this one is easy. I only watch 1 TV show faithfully and it is THE BIGGEST LOSER. I love it and it has inspired me in my own life. Its uplifting, has a little competition, and just isn't full of crap.

no clue....

QUESTION: Of all the movie characters you have seen, which one do you believe is most like you?

Thats a tough question. I don't even know. I wish it was worded differently like, which one do you wish you were most like. If that was the case I would say Sandra Bullock. She just rocks. Who am I actually like, I have no clue.

Always an adventure

QUESTION: What is the most beautiful drive you have ever taken? Be as descriptive as possible.

Growing up in an outdoorsy family there were always great opportunities for being in beautiful places. Growing up with so many siblings also ensured that we never flew anywhere and always drove. In all of my driving from Idaho to Utah to Wyoming to Louisiana to Texas to New Mexico to California to Nevada to Mexico, I think the most beautiful place is right in my own backyard. The White Mountains are beautiful. Especially in the fall. I remember many great times driving up into the mountains for a campfire, to haul firewood, to have a picnic. The aspen trees were all changing colors and there was often a little moisture in the air. The sun cuts through the trees and makes the dew on the ground sparkle like thousands of hiding diamonds. The air is still unless there are people around and if that is the case their laugher floats around and bounces off tree trunks. I love my own backyard.

Couldn't put it off any longer.

QUESTION: If you were given a $100 gift certificate to spend in any store, where would you choose to redeem it?

Anna's Linen's. I have wanted to get curtains for my room for such a long time but for some reason I don't ever want to drop money on that. Its always at the bottom of my list.

Good times.

QUESTION: What "moment of glory" have you watched another person celebrate that you too would love to experience if you could?

Well I think there are 2.

1. Watching Lindsey get up on the wakeboard was pretty cool. She has been trying for 2 years. I have NEVER tried but I think I would like to at some point.

2. Watching Tyson graduate with his Bachelors degree. Thats just awesome!! I can't wait till I get mine.

Place your bets

If you could enter a racehorse in the Kentucky Derby, what would you name your horse?

I would probably name it Horse. I have this thing about calling things by title and not names. It is a lot less complicated.

One day...

QUESTION: What would your dream house look like?

A house in the mountains. There would be back up electricity but the house would run off solar panels. A grand dining room for entertaining guests. A wrap around porch with plenty of patio furniture. A hot tub on the west end. Plenty of fresh flowers all over the house.Everything done in warm welcoming tones. Tile in the entryway and kitchen with everything else done in thick squishy carpet. The family room is large with plenty of room to play. The TV is hidden in the wall. Oversized furniture. Pool table. The master bedroom has a his and her closet. King size four post bed. One wall is only windows facing the mountain on the east. Bathroom has his and her sinks. Toilet in a separate room in bathroom. Shower is the kind where you walk around and into it so you don't need a curtain. Brown tile shower. 3 shower heads from different directions. Towel warmer in the bathroom. Off the bedroom will be a complete gym where no matter where you are you can see the TV. GREAT sound system throughout the entire house.

Next to the house is a garage, more like a warehouse. Plenty of room for motor home, boat, Jet ski, Quads, and whatever vehicles. Workshop area with ping pong table, couch, TV. Green, lushes grass surrounds a great big tree with a tire swing and a tree house up top.

The Beach House

QUESTION: If, for one month, you could live at any famous residence or house in the entire world, which one would you pick?

There is an email that floats into my inbox from time to time that always makes me want to go on vacation. Its of a house on an island. The only way to get there is on a yacht. The walls, and floor are all made of glass with tropical fish floating underneath. There are decks with the palm tree coverings overlooking a white sand beach. Everything inside the house is plush from the countertops to the HUGE TV on the wall. I would love that, but only for a month. If it was anything long term it would have to be somewhere in the mountains.

A pill a day keeps the doctor away.

QUESTION: If you could swallow a pill that would stop anything of your choice from ever happening to you again - anything except keep you from getting sick - what would the pill permanently end?

There are so many different options. Debt, Divorce, Gaining weight, Loneliness, work, periods. I hate all these things. I don't think its fair to make me choose only 1 to get rid of. I think if I had to stop only one it would be gaining weight. Does that make me shallow?

Show them the money

QUESTION: Suppose that income taxes still had to be paid, but instead of going to the government, your tax dollars would go to any cause or charity of your choice. Assuming the money would have to go to the same place each year, where would you want it to go?

Hmmmmmm.... I don't think I would want it to go to a cancer foundation or anything like that. Not saying that isn't a noble cause but I kinda figure if we were meant to have a cure don't you think they would have found it by now? Its hard to decide who needs it most. I would love to give it to under privileged children. Maybe to keeping public playgrounds safe. Feeding homeless children. Providing daycare for homeless children who's moms are trying to get back on their feet. Something like this. I am 100% against sending the money to helping babies in Africa. Yes my heart breaks for those cute little black babies with the sad eyes and bulging tummies but we have PLENTY of those children suffering in America. We don't have to go to other countries to make a difference. We can do it right here in our own backyard.

Polar Bears

QUESTION: If you had to spend an entire summer working at one of our country's national parks or historic sites, which one would you choose?

For the past few years I have had the thought of working in Alaska for the summer. I hear its so beautiful up there and there are tons of single adults that go up there to work. There are different jobs working in shops or giving tours. Word on the street is that the tour guides make BANK. So work there for the summer and finish it up with a 7 day alaskan cruise. That would be a GREAT summer. Did I forget to mention that the male to female ration is about 5 males to 1 female? But don't worry, that factor isn't being taken into consideration AT ALL. ;) yeah right.

Bride of Chuckie

QUESTION: What is one item you own that has virtually no monetary value but has such sentimental value that you would not sell it for $1,000?

My bride of Chuckie doll. I have a doll that scares most people. She looks kinda like the bride of chuckie but its not her fault so lay off people. This doll was my grandmothers when she was little. She had it at her house and I remember playing with it when I would go to visit. The doll is about the size of a 3 year old child. It has the eyes that close when you lay it on its back. Half of the eye lashes are pulled out, its dirty, she moves all awkwardly and scares little children. Why did she not scare me when I was little? I often wonder was I a weird child or just brave? After I grew up my grandma took one of my dresses and put it on the doll and thats what it still wears to this day. She scares most people so I have to keep her in the closet but I was very grateful to get that doll after my grandma passed on.

No thanks.

QUESTION: What is one vacation destination that many people thing is just fabulous, but which you personally have no desire to ever visit (or revisit)?

LAS VEGAS, NM I went a couple months ago with my friend. We had a great time but Vegas is a place to drink and gamble. Both of which are not high on my to do list. :) I am sure you are thinking to yourself "Mern, DUH! Everyone knows that is what you do in Vegas." I thought it was like floating the salt river. Everyone drinks BUT you can still have a GREAT time if you don't drink. NOPE. Vegas is different. It was fun to see all the attractions though. I ate Sushi for the first time so that was cool. The Las Vegas Temple is B-E-A UTIFUL. From here on out I will stick to Mexico for my cheap get-aways.
